Digital Heroes January 2016 Newsletter

Happy New Year! I'd like to wish each and everyone of our customers a very happy and prosperous 2016. We had a busy December with large number of new products coming through our doors and we also still have a decent supply of most recent releases - see "Recent Arrivals" below.

We had a bit of excitement down at the shop earlier this week. I rearranged one of our shelves behind the counter. I walked away to straighten out some of the graphic novels on another wall. As I finished there I heard a pop. I watched helplessly as one of the shelves collapsed and all of the product dumped onto the floor making a huge mess. The clean-up and rebuilding of the shelf wasn't the way I planned on spending my time, but as I'm sure you all know, "stuff" happens!

In the spirit of the New Year I'd like to ask you, our customers, what products you'd like to see at Digital Heroes - either on our website, in our shop or both. Yes, you can still count on us to have the largest selection of Non-Sports Cards here in the northwest - that's not changing! I'm just considering adding to or expanding some of our other product lines. Some of the items I'm considering include: more sports cards, Magic singles, Pops figures, vintage non-sports, other CCG's, RPG's, new & back issue comics. Please drop me an email and let me know what you'd like to see or what else we can do to continue to earn your business in 2016.

Recent Arrivals:

Star Wars the Force Awakens ended up being a big hit at the box office and was a big hit for us as well. Unfortunately, our order for the Topps Force Awakens Series 1 cards was heavily allocated and because of this we were forced (no pun intended) to cut and refund some of the pre-orders we had taken. We sold out of the Hobby boxes that included 2 hits (autograph, sketch, etc), but we do have a very limited number of "Special Hobby" boxes that don't include the big hits. As I was able to break down a few of these, I should have base sets and some of the foil chase cards available shortly. We are taking a limited number of pre-orders for the Series 2 cards (due to arrive in March) with no promise or guarantee we will be able to fill everyone's order. I am limiting pre-orders to a max of 3 boxes per person and will give priority to our regular customers.

We posted case breaks from Arrow Season 2, Doctor Who 2015 and SHIELD Season 2 this past month. If you're missing a chase card, looking for that special autograph or just want to see what we found in our cases, please take a look!

We also received and are in the process of breaking down and listing the contents of cases of Marvel Vibranium, Sons of Anarchy, and Bates Motel. Contents from these will all be posted within the next couple of weeks. The Sons of Anarchy binders are still on pre-order. We've been told to expect them "shortly".

Coming this Month:

Topps has the Garbage Pail Kids 2016 Series 1 (subtitled: American as Apple Pie In Your Face) scheduled to arrive around the 20th. We are taking pre-orders for both the regular Hobby box and the Collector's Edition box which includes some exclusive high end "hits". I don't have a huge amount of these coming so if you know you want one, please place your order ASAP!

Upper Deck has the Marvel Dossier trading cards also scheduled to arrive on the 20th. These are being released in "Gravity Pack" boxes with 36 packs per box. Each pack includes 2 base cards, 1 foil parallel and 1 necklace dog tag. Like all Upper Deck products we are prohibited to sell these on our website for the first 90 days, but we will have boxes and packs at our shop. If you wish to order a box, please give me a call or drop me an email.

Breygent has scheduled the Dexter Seasons 7 & 8 trading cards for a late January release. These are being released in collector's boxes - no packs. Each box will contain a complete set of 72 base cards, 1 parallel card, 6 hits (costume, autograph, dual autograph or autographed costume card), and 6 Chase Cards: 2 of 9 Dexter’s Justice, 2 of 9 Friends or Foe, and 2 of 9 Quotes. Along with the boxes, Breygent is producing binders which will include 2 exclusive promo cards. I will most likely be breaking a case of these.

The Hobbit Battle of the Five Armies cards are finally scheduled to release late January or early February. Cryptozoic has been previewing some of the sketch cards on their website and they do look fantastic! There are autographs from most of the main cast and director Peter Jackson to be found as well. I do plan on breaking at least 1 case of these and will post the content on our site shortly after release. In the meantime, please feel free to place pre-orders for boxes, binders and base sets through our website.

We are also taking pre-orders for the following:
